Taxi Driver’s Vocational
Licence (TDVL) Course

All taxi drivers in Singapore are required to have a valid Taxi Driver’s
Vocational Licence (TDVL) hire a taxi.

Who can apply?

LTA requirements

  • Be at least 30 years old
  • Be a Singapore Citizen
  • Possess a valid Class 3/3A Driving Licence
  • GCE “O” or “N, at least a D7 grade in English or a Level 3 pass in Workplace Literacy (WPL) programme for Listening, Reading and Speaking

Private Hire Car Driver’s
Vocational Licence (PDVL) Course

Private hire car drivers in Singapore are required to have a valid
Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational Licence (PDVL).

Conversion Course
(PDVL to TDVL Conversion Course)

LTA has introduced a conversion course, to allow PDVL holders to obtain a TDVL
without having to undergo the full two-day TDVL course and test.

  • Be a Singapore Citizen

All valid vocational licence holders are required to renew their licence
every three years and attend a mandatory Refresher course every 6 years before
they can renew their licence.

If you are interested to obtain the Bus Driver Licence, you may attend your course with Zig.

Who can apply?

LTA requirements

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Be a Singapore Citizen, Singapore Permanent Resident, or a Work Permit holder with bus driver as your vocation
  • Possess a valid Class 3/3A Driving Licence for continuous period of at least 1 year at the point of application

Applicants must obtain

Course Session

Course Duration: 1.5 full days
Course Session: 8.30am to 5.30pm (1st Day); 8.30am to 12.30pm (2nd Day)
